Scientologists for Human Rights

Church of Scientology of Denmark sponsors human rights petition event

Scientologists from around the world are very concerned about ensuring human rights are made a fact for everyone.  Here is an example of the kinds of things we do.

The first “Human Rights Sign-a-thon Weekend,” a grass roots activity to get thousands of citizens signing onto a petition to raise awareness and teach human rights, was a huge success! Teaming up with like-minded groups and organizations, Churches of Scientology around the world participated.

Highlights included The Church of Scientology of Denmark, in Germany where a huge 30-foot screen forwarded the Sign-a-thon’s human rights message in the main city square. Meanwhile 200 volunteers armed with clipboards, mingled with Copenhagen residents and collected 10,000 signatures in support of the petition.

Here are some sites that contain information on the human rights activities of Scientologists:

Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Botswana

For the past 6 months, Scientologists have been working in Botswana, to help the local towns improve conditions.  They are part of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour.  The Church of Scientology of Johannesburg, South Africa helped to set this up and work very closely with the tour.

Here is an excerpt from the story:

 Helping the Children of Maun

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour has just arrived in Maun, Botswana, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, Africa’s largest and most beautiful oasis. On arriving in the area, they surveyed community leaders, and learned that what is wanted is most quality education for the children of the city.

In response, the team, which has spend the last six months in and around Francistown, Botswana, set up workshops to teach study technology.

The workshops are based on the booklet The Technology of Study, from the Scientology Handbook by L. Ron Hubbard.
