New Web Sites for Scientology Churches
I noticed the Church of Scientology of San Francisco web site has a brand new look. Nice site.
They have such a beautiful church.
I was there for the grand opening in November 2003, when Mr. David Miscavige dedicated the building.
What a great event.
It started with a huge brass band - must have been 50 musicians - all playing "San Francisco" (the original, from the Nelson Eddy/Jeanette MacDonald film). It’s funny how moving a song like that can be, but it really evokes everything that is special about this town.
Since the Church is right on the edge of Chinatown, the celebration also included a "dragon" (about 75 dancers wearing a variety of dragon costumes including one very long dragon held on poles by at least 20 people moving in complete sync with one another).
David Miscavige then gave a speech in which he described the importance of San Francisco as a city and its significance in Scientology history.
The grand opening really began an era of tremendous growth for this Church, which was honored two weeks ago for the level of expansion it has accomplished and the degree to which it is serving the community.
