The Goals of a Goalie

Kudos to the dad who helped his son achieve his goals as a Goalie for a minor league Canadian hockey team.  The story appeared on the Scientology Press Office web site last week.

It’s not easy taking the heat as a pro hockey player, and at the age of 19 it seemed like it was about to get the best of a talented young man. That is, until he found out about Dianetics auditing.

At age 19, Ryan began his professional career as goalie in a new club in the Western Canadian league.

It started out great for him — his statistics were stellar and fans and teammates agreed — his performance was exceptional.

But he started making mistakes and suddenly everything seemed to go wrong at once. His winning streak ended. His team was losing games. He couldn’t keep from taking it personally.

And as his morale sunk lower and lower, this young man, for whom hockey had been his entire life since he was five years old, confided in his father that he was thinking of quitting. He was no longer certain that he was cut out for professional hockey.
