Human Rights

I adore the human rights videos that Youth for Human Rights has been promoting.

I’m an old human rights advocate from way back, and my favorite video is the one on Freedom of Assembly.  Boy does it bring back fond memories of the late 60’s/early 70’s and the many marches and protests I went to.

Watch this video here.

My generation really made a difference, when it came to civil rights.

But we have such a long way to go to really have a decent life for everyone.

One thing I loved immediately about Scientology was the recognition that each person is a being of unlimited capability and potential.

Thanks to What Strikes My Fancy for calling to me attention that these videos were online on YouTube.

Tickles and giggles

This set of minima maxims tickled me.

Some of my favorites are:

2. A day without sunshine is like….night.

3. On the other hand, you have different fingers.

4. Remember, half the people you know are below average.

and

7. Support bacteria. They’re the only culture some people have.

Unfair Detainment

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights forbids unfair detainment, yet people are jailed without due trial all over the world.  Additionally, psychiatric institutions can incarcerate a person on the "professional" (spit) opinion of a couple of psychiatrists (who are the first to admit they can’t "cure" mental illness).

The Church of Scientology International produced this short film for Youth for Human Rights International to let people know their rights.

It is up to US to see to it that these rights are upheld.
